My name is Shannon, and I am a Wisconsin native and a Midwest girl with a
love for all things wine, cheese, and dairy. I began my career in dentistry as
a Registered Dental Hygienist and later discovered a passion for food blogging and
writing amidst the Covid Pandemic. I published my first book A Healthy Balance:
In Life and In the Kitchen in 2021 and a second, Cracked But Not Broken in 2022.
After losing my dad to depression when I was a child, I have devoted much of my time raising
awareness about mental health issues and trying to help eliminate the stigma. In doing so, I’ve started writing and podcasting on the topic.
My Blog
My hope for this blog is to offer simple recipe ideas and words of encouragement. Occasionally I will share home decorating ideas or products I use and love. Whether it be an Instant Pot® meal or a scented candle I love, I hope you’ll find something meaningful in this little place of mine on the internet.
Losing my dad at such a young age left a huge impact on me – some of it not so good. Over time, I’ve learned to accept how that experience has shaped me.
Years later, I am still being shaped and changed – and I’m learning to embrace all of life’s little encounters. I’ve found that it’s much easier going through hard times when you’re not alone.
My Faith in God has been my source of strength. I’ve found that with Christ, a broken heart can be made whole again. In every experience, there’s healing – a healing that requires patience, forgiveness, and trust in God’s plan for us.
